The records consist of volumes 36 to 49:2 (of 66 bundles) of the papers of the diplomat Stratford Canning, afterwards Lord Stratford de Redcliffe. Included are correspondence and semi-official papers which document diplomatic missions to Turkey. The records constitute Public Record Office group Foreign Office class 352 (PR0 FO 352) and are part of the Private Collections which consist for the most part of the semi-official papers, presented to the Foreign Office, of persons formerly engaged in the Diplomatic Service.
